Syllabus for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNVST) 2021-22 for Admission in Class 6 and Class 9 for Academic Session 2021-22
The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2021-22 scheduled to be held in the month of Jan 2021 and Apr 2021 at various examination centres across the country for Admission in Class VI to all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. JNVST for admission in Class IX conducts at respective school for which candidates applied for. Eligible aspirants, who are wishing to get admission to Navodaya Vidyalaya are advised to go through the complete syllabus of the examination, study hard according to the syllabus released by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Simiti. Syllabus for JNVST 2021-22 for Class VI and IX are provided below respectively.
Note : This year JNV Selection Test for admission to Class-VI in JNVs for the academic session 2021-22 will be held in on Saturday, the 10th April, 2021 at 11.30 A.M in one phase for all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2021-22 for Class VI
The question paper of entrance examination for admission to Navodaya Vidyalaya for Class VI have Three Sections and candidates have to answer all the questions in the OMR sheet which will be provided separately. Section ‘A’ Mental Ability 40 questions of total 50 marks, Section ‘B’ Arithmetic and Section ‘C’ Language contains 20 questions of 25 marks each respectively. Section ‘C’ is specific and candidates attempt in the language (English/Hindi/Regional Language) opted at the time of online apply. Maximum marks of question paper are 100 marks and total time for to solve the paper is 2 hours. Question paper will be in (English/Hindi/Regional Language). There is no negative marking for unanswered questions and wrong answers in JNVST 2021-22. Candidates should scored minimum of 40% aggregate marks and a minimum of 25% marks in each subjects/sections to qualify JNVST 2021-22.

Students are advised to prepare disciplined study schedule, go through the complete syllabus, work hard and cover all the chapters and topics to crack the JNVST 2021 and score high marks as the limited number of seats are available in each Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. On past experience it is felt that merit for JNVST goes too high. So prepare well, solve practice papers, mock tests and previous years question papers to observe difficulty level of questions and time management.

In the section of Mental Ability the basic questions are based on verbal and non-verbal reasoning. Verbal reasoning tests are based on knowledge of Language, while non-verbal reasoning tests are based on figures or matrices. Frequently asked questions from the topics are :
Verbal Reasoning. Proper arrangement of sentences, Rearrangement of letters to make a meaningful word, arrangement of words in the sequence in which they occur in the dictionary, Analogy or correspondence, Classification, Completion of series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Miscellaneous questions.
Non-Verbal Reasoning. Classification, Completion of incomplete figure, Completion of series, Analogy, Imbedded Figure, Mirror images, Water images, Punched Hold Pattern, Folding/Unfolding, Space Visualization and Geometrical Figures Completion
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2021-22 for Class VI : Mathematics
It is the most important Section of the examination. It requires more concentration, hard work, more practice to score high marks in this section. Frequently asked questions from the chapter and topics are :
Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division of numbers, fractions and decimals, VBODMAS Rule, LCM and HCF, Unitary method, Average, Percentage, Profit and loss, Simple Interest, Square root, Area and Perimeter, Ratio and Proportion, Geometry, Triangle, Circle, Algebraic expressions.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2021-22 for Class VI Language (English/Hindi/ Regional Language)
This section is more scorers in compare to other sections. Candidates are advised to practice more, memories the concepts and hold the command on the grammar section. Candidates belongs to other Regional Language are advised to refer their own language syllabus according to the syllabus covered in English. Most frequently questions asked from the chapters and topics are:
Comprehension/Unseen Passages, Tenses, Sentences – Negative, Affirmative and Interrogative, Prepositions, Articles, Framing Questions, One Word answers/fill in the blanks, Singular & Plural forms, Homonyms, Synonyms & Antonyms, Spelling, Make meaningful sentences from jumbled words, Constructing sentences with words.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2021-22 for Class IX
The question paper of entrance examination for admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya for Class IX have Four Sections and candidates have to answer all the questions in the OMR sheet which will be provided separately. Section ‘A’ English, Section ‘B’ Hindi having 15 questions of 1 mark each respectively, Section ‘C’ Mathematics and Section ‘D’ Science contains 35 questions of 1 mark each respectively. Maximum marks of question paper are 100 marks and total time for to solve the paper is 3 hours. Question paper will be in English and Hindi only. There is no negative marking for unanswered questions and wrong answers in JNVST 2021-22.

Squares and Square Roots, Cubes and Cube Roots, HCF and LCM, Rational Exponents and Radicals, Profit, Loss and Discount, Compound Interest, Time and Work, Algebraic Identities, Polynomials, Equation in one variable, Parallel lines, Quadrilaterals and special types of Quadrilaterals., Areas of plane figures (Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Circle, Circumference of Circle), Surface Areas and Volumes (Cylinder, Cone, Sphere & Solids), Liner Equations in one variable, Direct and Inverse Proportions, Statistics (Mean, frequency table).
